James Likens is a song writer and singer from St. Louis, MO. He is also an ordained minister of The Lutheran
Church-Missouri Synod.
He is also known as “Grandpa Jim,” a delightful and somewhat whacky children’s entertainer that sings songs about some of the great stories of the Bible.
He became a television photographer and reporter in Oklahoma City when he was sophomore in high school. The first story he covered was a house fire. He has followed many fire
trucks and ambulances to the scenes of fires and accidents.
His first hand knowledge of seeing firemen not only work, but also give their lives in service, helped him to find the words to
write this new sing.
